Cool
- So why make your own kit? |
| |
After
recovering and renovating a few old kits I wanted to build a drum
from scratch so I tried a couple of snares which went well. I then
decided to tackle a full kit - I loved a DW orange sparkle kit that
I saw in a show in Glasgow and decided to base my kit loosely on the
one that I had seen. |
| |
 |
 |
Blimey!
Drum Workshop is a tough act to compete with? |
| |
Yeah
but the best bit of all is that they sound fantastic now that they
are completed. I only need another boom arm to mount on the floor
tom stand to hold my 18" 2002 crash - and she's all done. |
 |
So
a complete kit built and now I expect you will call it a day!
|
| |
Not
quite - After my wife went to bed, I set the new kit up in the lounge
to take the pictures - And
I'm currently building three new snares including the stave shell
and refinishing two others - I will obviously let you see the results
of those when
they are done. |
 |
Ooooh
stave shells - I've tried those with congas - a lot of work
involved - Anyway good luck with that! |
| |
All
the best -Lenny |
