sound we are aiming for with various designs.

Let's be quite clear though, we are not suggesting Billy Cobham plays a Tesselated BDB snare. - it's meant to help and we only use these clips because we love the songs and admire the drummers who played them.

This is an amazing construction - The Tesselated shell of six layers (9mm)
it comes in almost 300g heavier than our "normal" snare shells.
At just a tad over 150mm (6") this packs an enormous, crisp and funky punch.
Like all the shells here, a lot depends on the final construction -
regards: hoops,heads,snare etc - that's where you come in.
But one thing remains constant this is the toughest shell around!

This is the "Rock" shell played by Jack Jewell It's a 6mm shell with 6mm support rings. At 150mm (6") deep, this makes for loud, punchy cutting snare sounds - great live and as tough as old boots - gig it and love it -

BDB "Jazz" shell - This is a 3mm x 150mm (6") shell which is rather sensitive with 6mm support rings - this little blighter is as bright as a button, with a big middle sound, crisp rim shots and very responsive with brushes and close rolls.

A Tesselated shell with the inner layer being a softer wood for control of a very tight sound - At just over 100mm (4") this shell gives the mighty "crack" you would expect from a piccolo size - with the shell construction also aimed at showing off good technique, this will cut through any mix.
