Shells
 |
We
make drum shells and, if required complete drums - Why do people buy
BDB drums? Because we will produce any size specified, or we can try
to re-create a vintage drum. |
 |
Many
projects only require a BDB shell because the fittings and finish
are already sorted - but as the man said - "if you have a problem
and no one else can help" - give us a shout. |
This
is new - a BDB thin shell snare - Only 3mm thick for extreme resonance,
but with mighty support rings of 4.5 and 6mm. This is the raw shell
- unsanded and all messy. More pics to follow as it reaches completion. |

Shells
ready for sanding, the small tom has bearing edges cut and will be
used with these very thin (Claw tensioning) hoops. |
| When
you are enjoying yourself, it's difficult to stop - so while putting
this "Rock" shell together for Jack Jewell I decided to
try out the new BDB Nylatron lugs and floating tensioning system.
This is just a mock up to test strength and tuning techniques but
so far so good. |

Hoops
How we produce our hoops!

| Ok,
it's not Magic - these hoops are made -piece by piece and measured
at each stage |

The
drop is crucial and tubes or un-sprung boxes are a real pain |

So
how does it sound ?
"The hoops are
superb in every way - Still real happy with mine and its holding
up to the strain of being used by an overhard hitter. Many comments
from people impressed with the snare sound." Johnny - Mapex
