Taff
is giving the new BDB Snare a road test in Copenhagen then Norway
and then maybe Damascus, so does he like it ?
"I`m
lost for words................the snare was the best I`ve ever played
and I mean that, I don`t know how you do it, you really have "the
knack" and that is no bullshit !!
I did not do any tuning at all, I left it as you had tuned it, all
I did was adjust the snare tension. I took the snare wires right off
and slowly tightened them until I got that thump in my stomach, and
did I get a THUMP - Wow not half !! a real vintage woody sound, just
perfect for my kind of music."
"I
will take the "Beauty" with me next week to Norway, I am
doing 3 big concerts where the rest of the band will be fully amplfied,
but with that snare I will have no worries at all of not been heard."
"Everyone
in the band commented about it, the trombonist who`s two sons play
drums, said it was one of the best sounding and loudest snare he had
ever heard"
Yeah
- Guess he did!
Big Thanks to Taff - he just took it out of the box and gigged it
- that's some compliment!
Also
a big thanks to Dave Warburton - For advice and supply of that sensational
snare throw - Nickleworks Rules!

Just for Tom - here's another pic with Sabians!
Ooh!
I'm lost for words....
But I should say - it's Taff's lightweight touring kit - with BDB bits
and pieces
makes me kinda proud to be involved with such a pretty result!
Bang
and Olufsen or what ?
Gor
Blimey!
Just
what is happening here ?
Well-
to celebrate 25 Years of drum building,
I decided to create a completely
new snare - without compromise and sod the consequences!
Stay tuned......
Just
because it's beautiful !
Thanks to Mark Cooper for this picture
- Mark's new look website is well worth a visit. This is a 1930 Liberty
snare. It was made by Slingerland or Ludwig and sold by Liberty Musical
Instruments Corp.
Ok
- He's an engineer! I love it - the whole snare build is being recorded
bit by methodical bit - top stuff !
oooooooh!
Now if only he had a strainer!
Ladies
and Gentlemen - Introducing:
The
Drum building Collaboration now has a name - Given that it involves Lenny,
Andy and Bob it's not too taxing to work out where that came from ! And
maybe there's a little poke at another Drum company that seems to have
lost it's direction .....
So
what are we up to ? Well here's a Pastiche of our 1st full kit in the
bare shell state. It's off to Sunny Hampshire on Monday to get the works
from Andy. Lenny meanwhile is scouring the planet for the hardware. I'm
starting on the next one and that's not all...watch this space......
We've
just turned down an offer for this little "Fusion" kit because
Andy will not compromise on his finish - so any potential buyers just
have to wait !
Have
you checked Bits
and Bobs recently - things are selling and there are new listings.
Come
on you Blues!
So
Mark
where are the pictures - so I can complete your drummers page ?
Those
drums have a history and I'll tell you all about them when Mark tells
me !
And
just to even things up -
Are also OK with me!
Now

kit - check out Morgy's ASBA "FOR
