Who's gotta brand new Yellow Hayman kit? Ok it's not new...but the tom hoops are BDB specials for John and he looks as happy as any Cider drinker should, having carefully pieced this old classic back together. John seems to favour yellow kits - and why not? It's a nice sunny west country colour.

John (sometimes known as Amos - don't ask why!) has been drummer with the Wurzels since 1981. He was previously in the Best of British Showband (also managed by the Wurzels' then manager John Miles). The showband used to provide extra backing at gigs during the 1970s "Glory Days" of the Wurzels' greatest chart success. John previously worked as a drummer in dance halls and played in such places as the Empire, Leicester Square in London, then became a resident drummer with the BBC in Bristol, where he accompanied many artists - it was while there that he came into contact with the Wurzels.

John is from the Forest of Dean and lives in Lydney in Gloucestershire. He says he likes all kinds of music and his first love is brass band music! He's a keen follower of sport, in particular watching soccer, cricket and rugby. John's favourite Wurzel songs are The Cabot Song (Big 'Ead) and Drink Up Thy Zider. Thanks to John for providing this information on request!

And thanks to WurzelMania from where I nicked this:
